    Shining Blanc 2019

A wine resulting from Stefanie and Alwin's enthusiasm and deep connection to French wines. Their great passion for the Chenin Blanc grape variety developed during their student days and was further deepened during countless trips through France and visits to winemaker friends in the Loire region. Anyone who loves minerality, lively acidity and freshness will fall in love with Chenin Blanc. So did Stefanie and Alwin.

Deeply rooted in the shimmering mica schist of the Loiserberg, Chenin Blanc can perfectly handle warm and dry conditions. The grape variety was re-grafted into an existing old vineyard and this process allows the variety to enjoy the great advantages of the deep, established root system. The experience we have gained with this grape variety is invaluable. As always, the vines set the pace. We had to feel our way, build a relationship and get to know the variety. It was a bit like learning a new language or a new instrument. How does the grape variety react? What kind of pruning does it need? These are all questions whose answers we have discovered and learned over the last few years, giving us a wealth of experience for future projects.
